Our Dentists

Dr. Maikol J. Morales, DMD

Dr. Maikol J. Morales helps patients build and maintain healthy, stable oral health while feeling comfortable throughout their care. He takes time to explain treatment in detail, answer questions, and help patients manage fears or concerns. His approach is centered on clear communication, comfort, and care tailored to each patient's needs.

Dr. Morales earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology before receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in 2024. He continues his education annually and brings a modern, technology-forward approach to care. His clinical experience includes restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, root canal treatment, and extractions. He also provides in-house molar root canal treatment and full-mouth rehabilitation.

At the practice, Dr. Morales uses digital impressions, intraoral scanners, digital smile design, digital X-rays, and a 3D printer to support treatment planning and efficient care. The office can create long-term provisionals on the same day when appropriate and has a dedicated denturist to help streamline denture care. Dr. Morales also emphasizes comfort techniques, including a careful, gentle approach to administering anesthetic.

The office is family-owned by Dr. Morales and his parents, Oneida, the head assistant, and Marcos, a dentist. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Morales enjoys PC video games, pickleball, and board games.

Dr. Jose Cepero, DMD

Dr. Cepero brings a calm, thorough approach to every procedure. His experience in general and restorative dentistry, combined with his ability to put anxious patients at ease, makes him a trusted member of the MJ Dental Office team. He believes great dentistry starts with building trust.

Dr. Yasmi Descalzo-Alfonso, DDS

Dr. Yasmi Descalzo-Alfonso is committed to helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their dental care. She believes that prevention, clear communication, and a thoughtful approach to treatment are essential to supporting long-term oral health. Her goal is to ensure patients understand their options without feeling rushed or overtreated.

Dr. Descalzo-Alfonso earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2021. She went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the University of Tennessee in 2022. Dedicated to staying current, she completes continuing education each year, including additional courses when new techniques or developments are relevant to everyday dentistry.

With experience in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, root canal treatment, extractions, and removable prosthetics, Dr. Descalzo-Alfonso brings a well-rounded general dentistry perspective to patient care. She practiced in Nashville for nearly two years before moving to South Florida in October 2023, and joined MJ Dental Office in June 2024.

Outside the office, Dr. Descalzo-Alfonso enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, including a three-year-old and twin girls. Together, they enjoy making memories through new experiences and travel.
